“I began working with first responders out of stubbornness; I saw they were a population with a significant need for support but learned quickly that they rarely accepted that support. I want to change that and help first responders become more aware of mental health and comfortable accessing counseling; changing the negative culture around mental health. After years of working with first responders and their families, I appreciate that they challenge my knowledge and allow my ornery personality to shine. I enjoy serving them and seeing their lives and relationships change for the better, and in return they’re improving the lives of the community they serve.” ~Christina
